We have some sad news to pass on. Andy Gage, who was the inspiration behind this website, died last Sunday morning after a long and courageous fight against cancer.
After our first Glaven Valley visit to Rwanda in 2013, Andy told me that we ‘should have a website’. After that, and on more occasions than I can remember, Andy harassed me, (almost bullied me!) to establish a website for our Rwanda project. He offered to do this for us free of charge and to train me on how to use it and keep it going. How glad I am that I took him up on his offer! It was a steep learning curve for me but Andy was very patient in taking me through all the vagaries of website working. It is because of him that we have this means of communication. It is because of him that I learned to send daily ‘blogs’ from Rwanda to keep you up-to-date with our activities. It is because of him that so many people around the country have kept in touch with us.
This website will be a lasting tribute to a kind and resolute man, who, in spite of his own illness, always had an eye for the future.
God bless you, Andy. You are at rest now.
